Pharmacist – Doctors Without Borders – Greece

Pharmacist

Pharmacists ensure that essential medicines are there when they are needed. They are also taking care that these are well managed, transported and stored appropriately.

Tasks & Duties

  • Define, coordinate and monitor all pharmacy related activities in the project area including management of staff, according to MSF protocols, standards and procedures
  • Participate actively in the definition and update of the annual planning and budgets of the pharmacy activities in the project
  • Ensure good practice in distribution and pharmaceutical practices comply with national rules, drug management and medical equipment order, storage and distribution in MSF projects
  • Support in the ordering and supply process of medicines and medical devices
  • Train and supervise local hired staff working in the project pharmacies and warehouses

Essential requirements

  • Degree in Pharmacy
  • At least 2 years of post-qualification experience, ideally in hospital pharmacy management
  • Fluency in English
  • Advanced computer literacy

Desirable requirements

  • Professional experience supervising, managing or training staff
  • Knowledge of other languages, in particular French and/or Arabic
  • Previous international experience with INGOs, UN agencies, other humanitarian organisations, charities, etc.
  • Experience working in developing countries
