Medical Doctor

Medical Doctors are providing outpatient and/or inpatient medical care to patients according to adapted and updated medical knowledge and universal hygiene standards in order to improve the patients/beneficiaries health conditions.

Tasks & Duties

  • Apply medical knowledge and skills to diagnose and prevention. Carry out outpatient and inpatient consultations, prescribing the necessary treatment
  • Check and control the rational distribution of medicines and equipment under his/her responsibility and take care the quality, disinfection and sterilization of the medical material. Assure general compliance with standing hygiene standards
  • Ensure ongoing training of the medical/paramedical multidisciplinary team in order to optimize the quality of care
  • Manage the team under his/her direct responsibility supervising their performance

Essential requirements

  • Registered in medical association in country of residence
  • At least two years of relevant and substantial clinical work experience after graduation
  • Fluency in English
  • Advanced computer literacy

Desirable requirements

  • Training in tropical medicine and/or STDS
  • Experience in emergency medicine
  • Professional experience supervising, managing or training staff
  • Knowledge of other languages, in particular French and/or Arabic
  • Previous international experience with INGOs, UN agencies, other humanitarian organisations, charities, etc.
  • Experience working in developing countries
